I figured it's about time for me to re-launch my long-deserted blog......You see, after initial enthusiasm about keeping a blog for people at home, the habit of actually posting messages regularly quickly fades within a few months after moving to another country.
I've noticed that this is a common occurrence among most of my friends who lived abroad for some period of their lives.
Sure, the first weeks after moving it's incredibly exciting, all those new impressions and naturally you feel the urge to share your emotions/thoughts etc. with your loved ones. However, once you have established your new life, built up a social circle and gotten into the grind of 'normal' life, suddenly you don't experience much unusual-ness on a regular basis anymore. So why would you write about mundane, boring (at least for you) stuff? Ergo the story of countless blogs that drift away into the everlasting darkness of obscure www-corners....
But, but? Why would I then drag my blog back into the light? Well first and foremost, I simply felt like it! :) No seriously, I tried out Twitter for a while, but didn't like it that much. Not enough space to really elaborate on whatever I wanted to post there. Besides, I'm too old-fashioned for it, I, as opposed to the younger generation, do NOT think my life is so interesting for others to be constantly updated on my whereabouts.
The big question of course is: what am I going to use this virtual space for? If I don't have a purpose , then I'm sure it will die out quickly again.....
My goal will be to a) post articles that interest me and comment on them. This will mainly be scientific developments, as that is what I do (do not fear, it won't be heavy at hand). b) write short pieces about my daily life.
Let's see how this turns out!
Houdoe all!
